The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch today, Tuesday, June 6, for Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Bedford and Blair counties from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels.

Winds are expected from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. The relative humidity is 20 to 30% and temperatures are anticipated in the mid 70s to low 80s.

Rapid wildfire growth and spread expected. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
