Raise your cups (of Gatorade) for a toast to the Waynesboro girls and Greencastle-Antrim boys track programs, which each nailed down Mid-Penn Colonial Division titles last weekend.
It was no easy task for either squad. The Maidens sealed their championship with an 81-69 win over the Blue Devils on Tuesday, while Greencastle-Antrim’s boys took care of business with an 86-54 win over Waynesboro.
Chambersburg’s track outfit is peaking at the right time, as the Trojans put on a show in their final invitational of the regular season: The Stan Morgan Invitational in Carlisle. The Trojan girls won the team title, while Chambersburg’s boys finished second.
The baseball and softball division races are tight for a pair of contending teams from the Local.News area. Waynesboro’s boys baseball team is clinging to a one-game lead in the Colonial Division, while Greencastle-Antrim’s softball squad is tied for the Colonial lead with Northern York.
And finally, the undefeated dream continues for Smithsburg’s boys lacrosse team, which improved to 12-0 with a 12-4 win over Winters Mill.
Below is a sport-by-sport look at how teams in the Local.News coverage area performed last week:
