High school scores and standings from May 6-11

You may not have been able to pick up the scent because of all the rain we’ve had in recent weeks, but the smell of the postseason is most certainly in the air.

The MPSSAA playoffs are underway, and while seven area teams have been bounced in the early going, there are still four Local.News squads who are alive and well, including Smithsburg’s unbeaten boys lacrosse team.

Track and field is also heating up, with both the Mid-Penn and Washington County championships being held last week. Greencastle-Antrim’s Claire Paci (1,600) and Chambersburg’s Aiden Alleman (3,200) won titles at Mid-Penns, while Smithsburg’s Jenna Howe captured a four-pack of wins at the Washington County meet, claiming victory in the 100, 200, 400, and 4×100 relay.

The baseball and softball regular season is winding down in Pennsylvania, with this week serving as the final chance for any bubble teams looking to sneak into the postseason.
