WAYNESBORO— The 2nd Annual Waynesboro Community Service Fair will take place this Saturday, Sept. 9 in Memorial Park from 12 to 4 p.m. This year’s theme is Carnival Time.

Last year, Waynesboro’s St. Mary’s Episcopal Church along with other concerned groups, organized and produced the first Community Service Fair to attention to those organizations which provide services to our community. Their hope was to give them an opportunity to explain their mission, while promoting participation, volunteerism and recognition of such organization as our Police, Ambulance and Fire Departments, our local homeless shelter, scout troops and numerous County organizations.

This year’s Fair is primarily sponsored by St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, with the support of Waynesboro Community Services, New Hope Homeless Shelter, Jesus Alive Ministries and Waynesboro Mainstreet.

Visitors can expect to find live music from the vibrant Center of Gravity Band, Free hot dogs to the first 100 visitors, the Antietam Dairy Truck, Food Trucks, Vendors, Tillie the Clown, Face Painting, Magic, Juggling, Childrens Games and over Information tables set up by community service organizations across the town, the township and the county.

An ambulance, and fire fighting vehicle will be present and a K-9 demonstration is planned.

The organizers hope that the fair will be a fun and informative event for the whole community. They encourage everyone to come out and learn about the many different ways to get involved in Waynesboro.
