Historic fruit processing methods showcased at Conococheague Institute

MERCERSBURG,- The Conococheague Institute is hosting a Falls Bounty Program on Saturday, Sept. 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will take place at 12995 Bain Road, Mercersburg. The program is free and open to all ages, with no registration required.

The event will showcase the historic methods of processing fruit, including dozens of apple trees, grape vines, and pears, which are ready for harvest. Attendees will learn about cider making and pigéage (grape stomping) and will have the opportunity to try it out themselves. They can also taste some fresh-pressed cider and take some home.
