HAGERSTOWN, MD – The Washington County Planning Commission has released the new Comprehensive Plan for the County, a pivotal document that aims to develop a community vision for future land use and effective growth management, shaping the future of Washington County. The plan is available for download on the county’s website, and everyone is invited to contribute to the community’s vision by actively participating in the decision-making process.
Over the next several months, the Washington County Planning Commission, in collaboration with the Department of Planning & Zoning, will actively seek public input on the best strategies to plan and manage future growth, ensuring the creation of a vibrant community that caters to the needs of all its citizens. The key topics for discussion will include economic development, housing, transportation, water resources, agricultural resources and land preservation, historic and cultural resources, and many others.
There are several ways to get involved and make your voice heard, including visiting the county’s website to download and read the plan in detail, joining the mailing list to receive updates on scheduled meetings and other relevant information, following the county on Facebook for regular updates and announcements, emailing questions and comments to [email protected], and attending upcoming public input meetings scheduled for this fall in 2023.
