Schedule Update: Paving Planned on I-81 in Franklin County

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the schedule has been updated for paving planned for this week on Interstate 81 at various locations in the Franklin County.

On Tuesday, July 25, PennDOT maintenance crews will pave the right (driving) lane on northbound I-81 at the bridge spanning Leitersburg Road just south of Exit 4 (Route 16/Greencastle/Waynesboro). This may cause delays. Tuesday’s work also includes paving the Exit 14 (Route 316/Wayne Avenue) on-ramp to northbound I-81. A traffic shift will be in place.

On Wednesday, July 26, crews will pave the left (passing) lane on northbound I-81 at the bridge spanning Leitersburg Road just south of Exit 4 (Route 16/Greencastle/Waynesboro). There may be delays. Work on Wednesday includes paving the northbound I-81 on-ramp to the Exit 14 (Route 316/Wayne Avenue)). A traffic shift will be in place.

On Thursday, July 27, work will be at the northbound I-81 off-ramp to Exit 24 (Route 696/Fayette Street). A traffic shift will be in place.

Work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily. Lane restrictions at the Leitersburg Road bridge are not expected to be implemented until after 9:00 AM.

Motorists should be alert, watch for changing traffic patterns and drive with caution through the work zone.
