WAYNESBORO – The 3rd Annual Run 4 Clean Water Kenya 7-Miler/5K Walk-Run is set to take place on Saturday, August 26 at 8:00 AM, with a virtual option available. The event will also include a 1-Mile Fun Run for children aged 12 and under, starting at 7:30 AM. Each race registration provides five years of clean water for a family of six, making this event a great way to support a worthy cause.

The registration fee for the 1-Mile Fun Run is $25, while the 7-Miler and 5K Walk/Run is $35. Participants can also register for the Karanga Challenge for $40 if registered by July 31, which includes a t-shirt and swag bag.

The Run 4 Clean Water Kenya is organized by Clean Water Kenya, a non-profit organization that provides rural Maasai and Kampo Villages in the Great Rift Valley and northeast Kenya with easy-to-maintain portable water filtration systems that cleanse the local drinking water of deadly pathogens. The organization also provides an educational program that focuses on water hygiene and waste management and sanitation.

According to a recent U.N. water report, billions of people lack access to clean drinking water, making events like the Run 4 Clean Water Kenya all the more important. The U.N. estimates that efforts to secure clean water and sanitation for all people by 2030 could exceed $1 trillion each year.

The Run 4 Clean Water Kenya is a great opportunity to support a worthy cause while also getting some exercise. However, the event needs 50 runners signed up and registered by July 31st to avoid cancellation. To register or get more information, visit https://www.cleanwaterkenya.com/.
