HAGERSTOWN, MD- Kicking off their inaugural air show season, the volunteers of the Ens. Dean R. Van Kirk Aviation Heritage Museum will allow the general public to tour the 1944 Douglas DC-3 Air North “Yukon Sourdough.”

Commemorating the occasion so close to Easter, the crew will decorate the aircraft as a bunny with over 6-foot ears positioned above the cockpit area and a fluffy tail at the plane’s rear. The event, the first of many lined up for the 2023 airshow season, was created to help with annual fundraising for the 501(c)3 non-profit.

Attendees can walk around and see aircraft up close, sit in the passenger airliner seats, view the cockpit, speak with the pilots and crew, and capture their own photos in front of the uniquely decorated aircraft.

Guests can also grab a bit to eat at ‘The Grill at Runways,’ located within the Rider Jet Center building.
Reservations can be booked by calling (240) 707-6466 or emailing [email protected], and are highly encouraged as seating is limited.

This free event is to take place Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entrance for visitors will be through the Rider Jet Center at Hagerstown Regional Airport, 18421 Henson Blvd., Hagerstown, Maryland.
