Celebrate St. Paddy’s. A St. Patrick’s Celebration with music by Jason Teach will be held today, Friday, March 17, at 6 p.m. at the Waynesboro Country Club. Reservations requested by calling the club.

Bid and buy The annual Maugansville Ruritan Community Auction will be held Saturday, March 18, at 2 p.m. at the Ruritan building on Maugans Avenue. Up for sale will be items donated items from area businesses—everything from furniture to household goods to gift certificates to a little of anything and everything. All proceeds go back into the community.

Go birding. SOAR (Studying Ornithology Around the Region) Bird Walks are held the first and third Saturdays of the month. Birding enthusiasts Sharon and Larry Williams of Waynesboro lead walk along hiking trails at various locations throughout the area. This month, the walk will be held at Caledonia State Park (meet at park office) on Saturday, March 18, from 8 to 10 a.m. Sponsored by The Institute and South Mountain Partnership.

Shop small. Scotland Community Center’s Craft & Vendor Show will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Scotland Community Association, 3832 Main St., Chambersburg. The event will include crafts and food vendors. 

Appreciate the classics. Music Gettysburg! Violin/Piano Duo Concert Sunday, March 19, at 4 p.m. at United Lutheran Seminary. Enjoy the sounds of Elena Millar, piano, and Nikita Burakovskiy, violin in the program “Ode to Opera,” including compositions by Mussorgsky, Glinka, Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninov, and Tchaikovsky.
