Celebrate Homecoming. WASHS Homecoming weekend includes a parade Friday, followed by a football game at 7 p.m., with introduction of the court and crowing of the queen at halftime.

Take in a song. The Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro will present the Cumberland Valley Songwriters Festival Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Mainstreet Park. The event features 10 accomplished songwriters from the tri-state area.  Rough Edges Brewery and food trucks will also be available for concession purchases.

Protect yourself. Drive-thru flu shots will be offered tomorrow, Saturday, from 9 a.m.-noon at Norland Avenue Pharmacy in Chambersburg. No appointments are necessary for patients 12 and older. Cost without insurance is $28 and $60.

Go to the dogs. DogtoberFest will be held tomorrow, Saturday, from 5-7 pm at Main Street Park in Waynesboro. The event will include adoptable pets from Antietam Humane Society, beer tastings by Rough Edges Brewing, contests, music and more.

Get colorful. Catoctin Colorfest will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Thurmont, Maryland. Parking is $15 at most locations and shuttles are provided to get you to the park.
