WAYNESBORO—AARGH! There’s pirates in town and they’re on the stage of the Waynesboro Area Middle School.

WAMS students will present “Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen” this weekend.

Thirty middle school students have spent the past two months memorizing lines, building sets and laughing (something that didn’t happen last year due to the pandemic).

The show combines sword fighting, searching for buried treasures, loaded coconut cannons and lots of pirates.

This year marks the 19th show for directors Ken Carlson and Mary Fleagle.

The cast includes: Zachary Kaiser, Ellie Cieri, Zoe Bowersox, Maryanne Ausherman, Elizabeth Callaway, Robert Bond, Addison Broas, Trinity Anderson, Katherine Dennis, Marshal Massey, Dallas French, Elijah Frye, Aydan Siegrist, Chole Shacreaw, Ariabella Dimino, Abigail Carbaugh, Naomi Alvarez Castillo, Alexandra Reynolds, Aurora Foreman, Brenna Hollingsworth, Nathan Wheeler, Eve Dickey, Maycie Bitner, Trinity Martinez, Alyssa Vulgamott and Lillian Johnson.

The stage crew includes: Laine Hess, Landon Kipe and Claire Kooser.

Special thanks go out to Mike Bercaw, Mercedes Miller, Jennifer Bumbaugh, Steve Brindle and Olympian Athletics. “Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen” will be performed Friday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. Tickets are available at the door.
