Four PSP troopers injured in crash

CHAMBERSBURG—Four Pennsylvania State Police troopers were injured in an incident late Monday near Chambersburg.

According to PSP, troopers attempted to stop a vehicle around 11:45 p.m. Jan. 21, after observing traffic violations in the Borough of Chambersburg.

The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, two trooper vehicles were involved in a crash at Lincoln Way West and Shatzer Orchard Road in Hamilton Township.

Four troopers were injured. Two were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for “moderate non-life-threatening injuries” and two were flown to a hospital for “serious non-life-threatening injuries,” according to PSP.

The operator, Christopher Shaun Naugle, 36, of Chambersburg, was taken into custody and charged with fleeing and eluding police, recklessly endangering another person and multiple summary traffic violations.
