WAYNESBORO—More than 300 members of American Legion Post 15 recently attended Membership Appreciation Day.

“Membership Appreciation is all about what great members we have.  We usually do these around the holidays, but this one is special. This is the first time we’ve been able to do one since we rebuilt from the fire, and after COVID,” said Post Home Association President and past Commander Bill Hoover, in between barking out winning Bowl, Bag Bingo, 50/50 and door prize numbers.

The Post had to sell a limited number of tickets to keep from overfilling the new facility, with members participating in small games of chance while snacking on hors d’oeuvres, enjoying a meal and dessert while chatting with friends and neighbors in the holiday spirit.

“The meal was basically free because as each $5 ticket was presented at the door, the member got their $5 back,” Hoover said. “We really appreciate our membership for the great things they did while in the service, and the magnificent things they do here in the Waynesboro community”.
