WAYNESBORO – The Renfrew Museum and Park is inviting the public to join in the celebration of its 49th annual Opening Day on Saturday, April 13 from noon to 4 p.m. This free event will be centered exclusively at the Fahnestock Farmstead, located at the southern end of Renfrew’s historic area.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Renfrew’s industrial farming heritage and learn about the lives of the many families who once called this place home. The full property, including the Little Antietam Creek and nature trails, will be open from dawn to dusk for guests to freely explore.

The Renfrew Visitors Center and Royer Farmstead will be closed during the Opening Day festivities, as the focus will be on the Fahnestock Farmstead. Free parking is available at the Visitors Center and Welty Road lots, but no vehicles will be permitted to drive onto the farmstead itself.

Portable toilet facilities will be located near the event site, and the Visitors Center restrooms will be open during the event hours only. A full schedule of Opening Day activities and events can be found on the Renfrew Museum and Park website at https://www.renfrewmuseum.org/openingday/.

Admission to the event is free, and the public is encouraged to come out and celebrate the start of the 49th tour season at Renfrew.
