BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT- The Blue Ridge Summit (BRS) Fire and Rescue had a successful “Wing Night” this evening at their Social Hall on Monterey Lane. People began streaming in at 4:30 pm, eventually filling the hall by the time food was served at 6 pm.

“We have these three times a year, in January, March and October” said Chief Chris Coyle, event organizer in addition to his other duties.

“Great food and plenty of it draws over 200 people each time.” He added that they make their own barbeque and mild sauces, get pizza from Rio7, and purchase wings from Thurmont. “Everything else we get from local vendors.”

The crowd enjoyed several hours of the modern country, folk and southern rock music of local singer / songwriter Rick Fehle.

The Chief was grateful for the over 100 firefighters, families and volunteers who make each “Wing Night” possible.
