CHAMBERSBURG- The Institute for Retired Persons (IRP) is a Chambersburg based organization that provides affordable lifelong learning opportunities for seniors. IRP hosts weekly lectures on a wide variety of topics, with one Zoom lecture on Mondays and Wednesdays and two in-person lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Menno Haven Life Center.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, IRP adopted a flexible attendance policy, allowing members to attend any or all lectures, either in person or via Zoom. There are no tests or other academic requirements, and speakers are volunteers with the requisite knowledge and experience.

IRP offers a wide variety of topics each semester, and there are no enrollment fees for Zoom lectures. The IRP program is managed by a staff of unpaid professionals, and the organization has an outstanding reputation for providing quality informal continuing education. The Menno Haven Life Center is a large modern facility that provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for in-person lectures.
