Paving Planned on I-81 in Franklin County

HARRISBURG– The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that department maintenance crews in Franklin County are scheduled to pave on Interstate 81 at various locations in the county.

Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, July 24. Monday’s work includes paving on northbound I-81 at the bridge spanning Leitersburg Road just south of Exit 4 (Route 16/Greencastle/Waynesboro). Alternating lanes of traffic will be restricted. This may cause delays.

On Tuesday, July 25, work will be on the Exit 14 (Route 316/Wayne Avenue) on-ramp to northbound I-81. A traffic shift will be in place.

On Wednesday, July 26, work will be at the northbound I-81 off-ramp to Exit 24 (Route 696/Fayette Street). A traffic shift will be in place.

On Thursday, July 27, work will be at the southbound I-81 off-ramp to Exit 14 (Route 316/Wayne Avenue). A traffic shift will be in place.

Work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily. Monday lane restrictions are not expected to be implemented until after 9:00 AM.

Motorists should be alert, watch for changing traffic patterns and drive with caution through the work zone.
