Join the Walking Librarian on Facebook on Monday mornings for our virtual walk.
Locations vary from around the area, the county, the state, and sometimes even the
world.
Adult MakerSpace (3-part class)
Begins Monday, May 1, 4 – 5:30 p.m.
Join this 3-part class (May 1, 15, and 22) to learn the process of making items using the 3D
printer. A registration fee of $8.00 must be paid at time of registration to hold your place in the
class. There is limited spaces available, so register early at the library.

Step Back In Time: Civil War Memories by Lida Welsh Bender (Virtual)

Join us as we share personal accounts and handed down stories from times gone by in and
around Waynesboro. During the four Fridays in May, we will be sharing an account written by
Lida Welsh Bender as she experienced the Waynesboro area during the Civil War.

Adult MakerSpace: Nōtan Art
Monday, May 8, 4 – 5:30 p.m.
Nōtan is a Japanese design concept involving the play and placement of light and dark
elements as they are placed next to the other in the composition of art and imagery. Come
learn more about this style of art and learn how to make your own creations. Registration is
required at the library. A non-refundable class fee of $3.00 must be paid at time of registration.

Come join us as we paint spring! Lots of colors and laughs while we create a beautiful painting.

Military Appreciation Month: Women in the Military

Join us as retired US Army Major Kathy Silvia discusses her military career from West Point to
retirement and the history of women in the United States military. This program is free and the
public is urged to attend.
Hooks & Needles: Making a Filet Crochet Bookmark
Thursday, May 11, 1 – 3 p.m.
Come join us for our Hooks & Needles Program at the library. Our program will give you the
option of bringing with you what you are working on and joining in our group that talks about
their current projects and shares ideas and encouragement. This is a great place to share your
ideas or to learn some new stitching skills. You can also participate in our “Filet” Crochet
Bookmark instruction. If you choose to do this, bring along a Stainless crochet hook (size 7 or
8) and #10 crochet thread any color. This bookmark class is geared toward those who can
crochet — it is not a learn to crochet.
Senior Book Bingo

Seniors over 60 — come play Book Bingo with the library at the Waynesboro Senior Activity
Center. Playing is free and you can select a book for every game that you win. Please note for

Street gallery with hors d’oeuvres and a riddle, then make your way to the library. Work as a
team & use your wits to make it through the escape room puzzles. Tickets may be purchased

Did you know that there is a local agency that trains and pairs vets with service dogs? Come
listen and learn about the Franklin County Veteran Affairs Office Save-A-Vet, Save-A-Pet
program. You will also have the opportunity to meet one of the service animals from this

We read & discuss our favorite / least favorite manga, choose anime shows & movies to watch

Homeschool Club

Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library hosts a parent-led Homeschool Enrichment Club,
where participants in grades K-12 participate in art activities, STEM challenges, and more.
Each week has a different theme, with teens & kids sometimes splitting into groups, or staying

Join Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library on Fridays for our latest “Teen Story Share”
video. This is a regular library video series on Fridays, where Teen Services Librarian Miss
Gina shares a variety of reading material that is fun for teens, including short stories, &
excerpts from longer books—mostly fiction, with some nonfiction thrown in. We post on the
library’s YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram (we go by the library’s full name on YouTube &
Facebook; on Instagram we are @AlexHamiltonLibrary and @ahmfl_teens).
Teen Game Nights (Online)

Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library hosts Teen Game Night via Discord. Teens ages
13-18, do you have a smartphone, tablet, PC, and/or console that you play games on? Do you
have online games to play & no one to play with? Looking for a game to play but don’t know
where to start? Join us on our AHMFL Teen Discord to see what games are happening! We
play online multiplayer games such as Among Us, Jackbox, Unfortunate Spacemen, Gartic
Phone, Minecraft, and more. Put in your vote for what you want to play! To join us, you’ll need
to be a member of AHMFL’s Teen Discord, since this is how we meet up, choose games, &
share codes to access our game lobbies. To become a member, teens must return a
permission slip signed by a parent/guardian. Please contact AHMFL Teen Librarian Miss Gina
at (717) 762-3335 to request a slip. Unfortunately, Discord has a strict age 13+ policy, so we
direct 12-yr-old patrons to try our in-person Game Nights instead, until they turn 13.
Pokémon Club

Kids and Teens ages 9-18, Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library invites you to join us for
Pokémon Club! This club is dedicated to battling via the Pokémon card game. If you don’t already know how to play, leaders Chad & Kurt Ewell will teach you everything you need to
know! Feel free to bring your own deck if you have one. We will also have decks here.
