CHAMBERSBURG—The Boys and Girls Club of Chambersburg and Shippensburg (BGCCS) recently received a $72,000 grant through the Franklin County IMPACT! Grant Program. This funding will be used for BGCCS Triple Play Programming.

“The Boys and Girls Club is not just a place for kids to go until their parents are done with work. It is a place for kids to get homework help, learn about leadership and how they can be a leader, plus share with mentors who are there to support the kids in the program,” said Jessica Brindle, marketing director. “We consider ourselves an extension of the family and the school. When a child attends our program, they get so much more than just a place to go – they get a safe place to learn and grow as a person.”

Funding through Franklin County’s IMPACT! Grant Program was available to nonprofit organizations, municipalities and municipal authorities located within Franklin County to support local recovery efforts in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Franklin County Commissioners distributed grants for 127 projects across Franklin County.

The IMPACT! Grant Program was made possible through the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

“We are grateful to the Franklin County Commissioners for this grant and to the community for supporting the important work of preparing great futures for our area children,” Brindle said.
