Celebrate the season. Quincy Township will host a Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, Dec. 2, at 6:30pm at Heritage Park, 7575 Mentzer Gap Road.

Applaud young thespians. The Waynesboro Children’s Theatre Troupe will be performing its 26th annual full-scale musical production, “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2-4. Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7 p.m. and the Sunday performance is at 2 p.m.  at WASHS auditorium. Tickets are $12 and are available at www.wctt.org.  General admission tickets may be available at the door.

Shop local. The Waynesboro Area YMCA will host a holiday craft show Saturday, Dec. 3, beginning at 9 a.m. Many local vendors will be on hand to showcase their products.

Ride the Santa Express. The Red Run Santa Express will be chugging along for the community to visit with Santa, ride the Red Run Express, drop off your letters to Santa and more, Saturday, Dec. 3, beginning at 11 a.m. at Red Run Park in Rouzerville.

Spread cheer to the pets. The annual Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter Christmas Open House will offer holiday festivities Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the shelter on Letterkenny Road West in Chambersburg. Santa will attend and for a donation to the shelter, you can get your furbaby’s photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
