Mercersburg bank robbed

MERCERSBURG–Community State Bank in Mercersburg was robbed Tuesday morning, Nov. 1.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, officers were called to the bank in the 300 block of North Main Street around 9:45 a.m. after a woman entered the bank and demanded tellers place U.S. currency into a black bag she brought.

According to police, she did not brandish any weapons, however she did threaten to shoot tellers if they did not comply.

After the theft, the suspect walked to her vehicle, parked a short distance away and left the scene driving west on Buchanan Trail West.

The woman is described as dark-complected, 30-40 years old and between 5’4″ and 5’5″ tall, with dark curly hair (possibly a wig). She was wearing eyeglasses, a plain gray hooded sweatshirt and a COVID-19-style mask with black pants and dark blue sneakers with white trim. She was driving a silver Chevrolet Sonic.
