Two ShipU runners to compete at NCAA championships

SHIPPENSBURG — Shippensburg University’s Aaron Arp Jr. (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin East) and Drew Dailey (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) will represent the men’s outdoor track & field team this week in competition at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Grand Valley State University.

Arp is scheduled to run in the 400-meter prelims at 5:40 p.m. Thursday. The finals are scheduled for 3:05 p.m. Saturday. The school record holder in the 400 (46.81 seconds as a freshman in 2019), Arp will be competing at nationals for the second time after earning All-America honors in 2019 with an eighth-place finish. His season best of 47.03 seconds was achieved in winning the 2022 PSAC Championship.

Dailey is scheduled to run in the 800-meter prelims at 6 p.m. Friday. The finals are scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Saturday. He is making his NCAA Championships debut and is vying to become the first men’s outdoor All-American in the 800 meters in school history. His season best and school record of 1:48.67 was achieved in April at the Bucknell Team Challenge.
