Gallery 50 to host opening reception for new exhibit

 WAYNESBORO—The Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro invites the public to an opening reception for a new exhibit in Gallery 50, “From Realism to Abstraction” on Friday, May 6, from 5:30 to 8 pm. at 50 W. Main St., Waynesboro.

The exhibit showcases the work of 17 artists, many of whom will be at this opening. The reception will include refreshments and live music from the Prophets of the Abstract Truth, who will be playing in the adjacent Music Makers’ space. Admission is free.

The featured artists include Ed Becker, Donna Bingaman, Colleen Clapp, Sandra Desrosiers, Lina Ferrara, Dee Henry, Melissa Hook, Roberta Iula, Carl Lewis, Donna Mason, Leslie McEntire, Karen Peacock, Ed Ramsburg, Marie Riccio, Julie Riker, Anita Williams and Marti Yeager.

“The Arts Alliance is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year,” said Greg Small, AAGW marketing manager. “We are delighted to open this new exhibit and look forward to a wonderful year of exciting arts events to share with our community.”

Following the reception, the exhibit will be on display through the beginning of August. Gallery 50 is open on Fridays from 5 – 8 p.m., Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and by appointment.

Gallery 50 is owned and operated by the Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro and spotlights fine art and high-quality crafts from local artists and artisans.
