5 Things to do this weekend

The 1st Keystone State Chainsaw Carving and Vendor Show. The event that began Wednesday continues throughout the weekend, with more than 40 chainsaw carvers from across the world, plus food and craft vendors. Snyder’s Amusements will offer rides and carnival food Friday and Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m. Helicopter rides will be available Friday and Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. A carvings auction will begin at noon Saturday. The event will be held through April 16 at the Cumberland Valley Steam and Tractor Show grounds, 1501 Criders Church Road, Chambersburg. Hours are Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Protection 4 Paws, Search 93 and Two Top Mountain Adaptive Sports Foundation.

Live Music Friday at Music Makers. The Flying Matlocks feature Laurie Matlock (guitar and vocals) and Scott Matlock (violin, guitar and vocals) with their brand of acoustic rock, country, folk and blues music from the roots of early traditional American tunes through Classic Country and Modern Americana. Tonight, Friday, April 15, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Music Makers, 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro.

Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance at a Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 16, at Fort Ritchie Community Center, 14421 Lake Royer Drive. The event is open to the public. The bunny will arrive right before 1 p.m. to begin the first hunt. The hunt will be divided by age groups as follows:

Ages 0 – 2: 1 p.m.

Ages 3 – 5: 1:05 p.m.

Ages 6 – 8: 1:10 p.m.

Ages 9 – 12: 1:15 p.m.

The Paranormal Party in the Park. Join members of not only the Paranormal community but other local metephysical vendors, on Saturday, April 16, from 1 to 5 p.m. and spend an afternoon talking with local paranormal teams, speaking with authors of amazing books, and getting items from amazing vendors, in addition to visiting and talking with members of the historic Monterey Pass Battlefield Park and Museum. Sponsored by the Ghost PIT, this event is free and open to the public. Bring the kiddos out for a fun day in the park and have their photo taken with the Ecto Jeep. The event will be held at Monterey Pass Battlefield Park & Museum, 14325 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro.

Camp Michaux Walking Tour. Historian David Smith will lead the popular Camp Michaux walking tour of the old Bunker Hill Farm—which later became the Pine Grove Furnace CCC Camp, Pine Grove Furnace POW Interrogation Camp and finally the United Church of Christ and United Presbyterian Church Camp. Saturday, April 16, from 1-3 p.m. Rain or shine. Tickets are $15 or $5 for school-aged children and are available at https://www.historicalsociety.com/…/camp-michaux…/
