Two arrested on robbery, assault and attempted homicide charges

ROUZERVILLE—Washington Township Police have arrested two individuals involved in an incident Saturday.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 14900 block of Buchanan Trail East around 12:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, for a reported robbery.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers located a victim who had been stabbed and two suspects were reported running from the scene.

The victim was transported from the scene to Meritus Medical Center for treatment.

During the investigation, Washington Township Police were assisted by the Waynesboro Borough Police Department, Chambersburg Borough Police Department, the Maryland State Police aviation unit, and the Franklin County District Attorney’s Office.

Two suspects, Joel R. Sites-Jones and Melvin D. Alford were arrested and were committed to the Franklin County Jail. Charges related to Criminal Attempt and Criminal Conspiracy to commit Criminal Homicide, Robbery, Assault, and Trespassing have been filed.
