WAYNESBORO—Do you enjoy the folksy look of painted canvas floorcloths? Ever wanted to make one of your own? Discover the beauty and history of this traditional craft with Renfrew’s Manager of Visitor Experiences, Steve LaBarre on Saturday, Feb. 12.

Following an illustrated presentation about the history of painted floorcloths, you’ll create a mini-mat of your own using period techniques that you can replicate on larger pieces at home. Participants receive a prepared 18″ x 18″ blank canvas mat.

Paint, brushes and stencils will be provided. You may bring along your own favorites, if desired. We recommend wearing old paint clothes and bringing a hairdryer. You may also wish to bring personal snacks, water, etc. as well as a seat cushion to make yourself more comfortable during this three-hour class, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Cost is $30 per person. Mature children ages ten and up are welcome to attend with a responsible adult. Class size is limited. For reservations, call 717-762-4723.
