Waynesboro swim teams notch victories

CAMP HILL – The Waynesboro boys’ and girls’ varsity swim teams took part in Senior Day this past Thursday at Cedar Cliff High School and both came away with victories.

The Maidens improved to 8-1-1 as they defeated the Colts by the score of 110-66. The Indians outpointed Cedar Cliff 66-59.

The Waynesboro girls won all three relay events. The Maidens won the 200 medley relay by 16 seconds, with the team of Joelle Blake, Belle Hess, Eve Phillips and Mya Beck finishing in 2:02.73.

Hess, Emma Swanson, Brenna Naddeo and Beck also combined to win the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:48.96.

Then, Phillips, Naddeo, Blake and Swanson won the 400 freestyle relay event with a time of 3:58.32.

Swanson won the 200 freestyle (2:12.81) and the 100 freestyle (59.26), while Phillips claimed wins in the 50 freestyle (24.81) and 100 butterfly (59.71).

Beck was victorious in the 500 freestyle (5:51.06) and Blake won the 100 backstroke (1:09.24).

In the boys competition, Waynesboro won the 200 medley relay in 1:56.93 with the team of Noah Collier, Aiden Hess, JB Bonner and Brenner McIlquham. The same foursome combined to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:42.44.

McIlquham was a double winner. He won the 50 freestyle in 26.77 and the 100 freestyle in 59.68.

Collier won the 200 freestyle in 1:54.53 as well as the 100 breaststroke (1:10.64). Bonner won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:21.18, and the 500 freestyle in 5:30.75.

Hess won the 100 butterfly in 1:05.22.
