HAGERSTOWN, MD—Sterling Financial Management’s inaugural “Vote for your Favorite Nonprofit Contest” received more than 100 votes for 35 different local nonprofit organizations found in Hagerstown, Frederick or Waynesboro, and raised $500 for the top vote-getter.

The winner with 38 votes was Camp Penn.

Located across from Old Forge State Park, Camp Penn operates as a seasonal facility providing summer camps for children and youth and retreat opportunities and events for the local community.

“We were really pleased with the participation we had for our first ever Favorite Nonprofit Contest,” said Dave Neterer, founder and president of Sterling Financial Management. “It was fun to see how many different nonprofits people voted for during it. We are excited to help out an organization like Camp Penn.”

The contest ran for one week, beginning Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30, and ended on Tuesday, Dec. 7.

Clients of Sterling Financial Management as well as members of the community could vote for their favorite nonprofit using a link found on their website.
