CHAMBERSBURG—Donations are needed for care packages in honor of First Responders Appreciation Day.
The 11/30 Network, Franklin County’s young professionals group, will celebrate the 7th Annual First Responders Appreciation Day by putting together care packages to deliver to more than 30 first responder stations, including police, fire and EMS, across the county to thank them for their tireless dedication to keeping our community safe.
“We are making stops all over the county—Waynesboro, Greencastle, Mont Alto, Fayetteville and Chambersburg,” said Laiton Heckman, with the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce.
Local individuals and families can participate by:
- Donating snacks and beverages that are individually wrapped (granola bars, nuts/trail mix, crackers, mints/gum, beef jerky, candy, microwave popcorn, sports drinks, etc. (Due to COVID-19 concerns, the group will only accept store-bought individually-packaged snacks and beverages)
- Donating supplies for the station (large cans of coffee, K-cups, hand sanitizer, little memo books, sticky notes, highlighters, black ink pens, Chapstick)
- Making monetary donations (to be used for extra snacks, gift cards for food/supplies, etc.)
- Providing thank you cards to thank first responders for their tireless efforts. Cards will be included with care packages delivered to each station.
