CHAMBERSBURG—Franklin County commissioners recently launched a recycling app that offers a more streamlined, interactive user experience to their waste disposal.

The new app allows users to filter their searches by specific recyclables and materials to identify appropriate drop-off facilities.

Users can still search by location to find nearby recycling centers or waste disposal sites, including which facilities are open to the public or restricted to residents of a particular municipality.

Franklin County residents are encouraged to utilize this resource to properly dispose of unwanted materials and recyclables in a safe, responsible manner. Doing so is an effective, practical solution that not only limits waste sent to landfills, but also preserves natural resources and quality of life.

A collaborative effort of the Planning and Geographic Information Systems departments, the new Franklin County Recycling and Waste Disposal Application, online at fcgis.franklincountypa.gov/recycling, replaces the county’s previous recycling website and provides a higher level of efficiency and functionality with improved search and filtering capabilities.
