Rebecca Lynn Norris of Warrenton, Virginia, passed into the eternal love of God on April 6, 2024. Rebecca was born in 1955, to Ray and Peggy Norris of Catonsville, Maryland. After graduating from Catonsville High School in 1973, she obtained a BA degree in Studio Arts from Bob Jones University in 1977.
Rebecca was employed by Johns Hopkins University and later founded her own art and design firm: Norris, Reynolds & Denham, that specialized in typography and hand-drawn calligraphy. The firm’s excellence was reflected in the list of high-profile clients, including Johns Hopkins, The White House, Goucher College, Maryland Historical Society, St. Paul’s School, and the McDonough School. The firm would eventually include her artist sister, Maggie. After retirement and relocation to Warrenton, Virginia, she continued her love of art, particularly the study and collection of daguerreotypes. She regularly contributed to the Daguerrean Annual. Rebecca was an extra in Barry Levinson and John Waters films. She also loved animals and adopted many geriatric dogs.
Rebecca was preceded by her parents, but is survived by two sisters, Maggie Denison (Bill) and Nancy Bruno (Mike); her beloved brother, Timothy Norris (Tabbie); two nieces, Jen Stewart and Kate Stewart Davenny (Ward); and nephew Christopher Norris (Jaimee).
Graveside services were held at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Ringgold Cemetery, Ringgold, MD, with Pastor Ray Shutt officiating, with all the family and many friends in attendance, including her life partner, Clifford Krainik and childhood friend, Liz Ellers Berkeridge.
