Earl C. Harmer, 86, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 in The Gardens at Gettysburg with his family by his side. Born October 24, 1937 in Camden, NJ he was the son of the late Earl A. and Jeanne (Buzby) Harmer.

He was a graduate of Penns Grove High School, Penns Grove, NJ with the Class of 1955. Earl was active in attending reunions and visiting with his classmates. He served with the United States Army from October 1, 1961 until his honorable discharge August 13, 1962. Earl was a talented instrument technician with DuPont Company traveling all over the world including working in the oil fields of Saudi Arabia for five and a half years.

Together he and his wife, Shirley enjoyed motor homing with Adventure Caravans as patrons and as tour guides. They traveled all over the United States, Canada, and Central America.

Earl is survived by his loving wife, Shirley A. (Halverson) Harmer who he married August 13, 1971; three children, Jacqueline L. (Harmer) Hall, Sandra L. (Clark) Oldaker, and Michael E. Harmer; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two siblings, Stuart and Marie; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, George, and Mike Harmer.
