WAYNESBORO—WellSpan Health’s Mobile Mammogram coach came to town Wednesday to provide preventative screenings for women, as part of a health event on Elder Street. The state-of-the-art mobile unit is a new service to Central Pennsylvania and also stopped this week in Chambersburg and Aspers. WAYNE HEIGHTS – Washington Township has been awarded $2 million grant towards the construction of a new municipal complex. QUINCY—The death of former Quincy Township Supervisor Kerry Bumbaugh has been ruled a suicide. Bumbaugh, 57, was found deceased Dec. 3 at the township building on Mentzer Gap Road. According to Franklin County Coroner Jeff Conner, autopsy results revealed a self-induced overdose of prescription medications resulted in Bumbaugh’s death. The death came just days before Bumbaugh was to appear in court. He was arrested in May following an investigation involving the FBI and charged with seven felony counts and three misdemeanor counts for allegedly defrauding an estimated $150,000 from the township and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. CARLISLE—A fire at the Walmart in Carlisle has EMS officials concerned about how some members of the community put social media above their own safety. According to emergency services officials, the fire at the retailer in the first block of Noble Boulevard was reported around 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16. Units from the Carlisle Fire Department and other mutual aid partners arrived to find a smoke-filled building with an evacuation in progress.
