College Corner: Waynesboro grad Schuurman vaulting to new heights for Wheaton track squad

Josh Schuurman, Wheaton Indoor Track and Field

Josh Schuurman is nearly 650 miles away from home at Wheaton College in Illinois, but that’s OK, the Waynesboro grad is used to flying.

Schuurman, a pole vaulter for the Thunder, is having a breakout season on the indoor track and field scene this winter. He’s already won an invitational and set a PR along the way. All that’s left for Schuurman now is to showcase his talents at this weekend’s conference championships.

In College Corner this month, we’ll take a closer look at the exploits of Schuurman, while also shining the spotlight on 32 other former Waynesboro athletes who are competing at the next level.

In the months to come, College Corner will rotate coverage to Greencastle-Antrim and Chambersburg, before circling back to Waynesboro, once again.

Are we missing any athletes? Please send submissions to Andy Sandrik via email at [email protected].
