Mid-Penn Conference All-Stars named, Franklin County lands 56 selections

The Mid-Penn Conference announced its All-Star selections last week, and the selections were kind to Franklin County teams, with Waynesboro, Greencastle-Antrim, and Chambersburg all having at least one Player or Coach of the Year honoree.

In all, we counted 56 All-Star selections from the Local.News coverage area.

Waynesboro had 20 selections and was led by Kim Saunders, who was named the Coach of the Year in volleyball, and Nikki Davis, who nailed down Player of the Year honors in girls soccer. Other First Team selections for the Tribe include Jack Knepper (boys soccer), Lainey Peyton (girls soccer), and Jaeda Dockman (volleyball).

Greencastle-Antrim’s vollyeball team was represented with five selections, including Player of the Year Abigail Eagler. Football player Carter McCauley was a two-way All-Star, as he was named to both the First Team Offense and Defense. Other First Team selections for the Blue Devils include Kelsey Beauchamp (field hockey), Maddie Koons (girls soccer), Lexi Nelson (girls soccer), and Kylie Kerns (volleyball).

Chambersburg’s Ty Frelin was named Coach of the Year in volleyball, with Alayna Jones and Marah Leaman earning spots on the First Team. Other First Team selections include Stanley Lozius (football), Izhais Jean (boys soccer), Breanne Paeton (girls soccer), and Kadence Decker (girls soccer).

Field hockey all-stars for the Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division were not immediately available.
