WAYNESBORO – Workers from G.W. Electric Co. Inc., Greencastle, are installing11 new Victorian-style street lights on both sides of Walnut Street between Second and Third Streets in Waynesboro. The lights, similar to those on Main Street and Clayton Avenue, are part of the Borough of Waynesboro’s $217,762 revitalization effort to help connect the Boro Plaza on Walnut Street and downtown Waynesboro. Work on the first phase of the project started in August and will continue next year when sidewalks in that area of Walnut Street are upgraded and the street rebuilt. The project was funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Commonwealth Financing Authority and a Multimodal Transportation grant. NANCY MACE/FOR LOCAL.NEWS
