CHAMBERSBURG — In a heartwarming celebration of a life well lived, Phillip A. Patterson marked his 100th birthday on Aug. 10, surrounded by family and friends in Chambersburg’s Hamilton Township. Patterson, a distinguished veteran of the United States Navy Seabees, served from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. His service took him to the Admiralty Islands and Okinawa, Japan, in the Pacific Theater, where he contributed to the war effort with honor and distinction.
Despite reaching this remarkable milestone, Patterson continues to live independently and only gave up driving at the age of 96. His ability to maintain such vitality is a testament to his resilient spirit and positive outlook on life.
