High school scores and standings from June 3-8

The high school sports season has officially come to an end for teams in the Local.News coverage area.

The last remaining squad in postseason play — the Chambersburg softball team — saw its spring come to an end on Monday. Facing Downingtown West in the opening round of the PIAA Class 6A Tournament, the Trojans competed hard against the No. 1-seeded Whippets, who came in with a 24-0 record, but ultimately fell by a 4-3 score.

Chambersburg concludes its season with a 17-6 record.

Summer break is now in session, but fall sports are not that far away: High school golf kicks off in mid-August, with other sports teeing off for their seasons shortly after.

Below is a sport-by-sport look at how teams in the Local.News coverage area performed last week:

Local.News teams: Chambersburg (17-6, season is over), Greencastle-Antrim (16-4, season is over), South Hagerstown (13-6, season is over), Waynesboro (8-12, season is over), Fairfield (7-12, season is over), Smithsburg (5-12, season is over), North Hagerstown (1-20, season is over).
