FT RITCHIE – You never know. A new place to eat. A new shop. And not always new – an old place newly discovered.

What a pleasure attending the play “Deathtrap” on opening night, April 19, 2024 at the Ft Ritchie Lakeside Hall.

The play is set in struggling playwright Sydney Bruhl’s Westport Connecticut study in 1978. There are multiple plot twists in this one set, five character production featuring lies, greed, envy and murder. The play holds the record for the longest running comedy-thriller on Broadway.

It is very well acted by a cast with a wide range of credits.

Sponsored on by the 51 year old Blue Ridge Theatre Guild, and directed by experienced Director / Producer Tom Rodgers, the performance fits nicely into the central space of the hall. The Guild offered cookies, brownies, soft drinks and water for donations.

An added benefit of the facility before and at intermission is the beautiful view of the lake left of the seating area. We’re pretty sure no one on Broadway can match that.
