Bomb Threat at Franklin County Courthouse Complex

CHAMBERSBURG – At approximately 1:40 p.m. April 10, a bomb threat was received by a Franklin County employee working in the Franklin County Judicial Center at 14 N. Main St., Chambersburg. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, based on the information received, took appropriate precautionary actions.

In coordination with the Sheriff’s Office, members of the Chambersburg Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist during the incident. With the use of three K9 teams, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a controlled sweep of the impacted areas was complete and the area was deemed “clear.”

Law enforcement agencies across all jurisdictions are working under the direction of the Franklin County District Attorney to investigate and identify who is responsible for the threat.
