BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT- The Blue Ridge Summit Free Library has a variety of activities every week. This sample is submitted by Blue Ridge Summit Free Library. For a complete listing, please visit their website.
- Children’s Story time: Monday, Feb. 26, drop in from 4 to 5 p.m. Children and parents can join us for a weekly story, craft or coloring sheet, and play time!
- Blue Ridge Summit Book Club: Join in on Monday, Feb. 26 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. This club meets the 3rd Monday of every month from 5 pm to 6 pm, unless that day falls on a holiday. This month, we are reading and discussing Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tocarczuk, a translated novel about an elderly woman trying to solve a string of mysterious murders. We will be discussing the book for an hour, then we’ll work as a group to select 12 books for the next cycle of Book Club! If you have any interest in joining us this year, I suggest attending this meeting, so you can weigh in on what we’re reading. 🙂
- DIY Chapstick Program: Join us for this experimental adult program on Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m. We will be learning to make our own scented chapsticks step-by-step, and each participant will get to take their new lip products home. As we will be dealing with wax and oil, expect to get a bit messy! We’ll also talk a little bit about the history of chapstick itself.
- Teen and Tween Night: Join us on Thursday, Feb. 29, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Ages 10 to 17 are welcome to join our weekly Thursday program. We play games, make crafts, eat snacks, and have a great time!
- Children’s Storytime (Saturday): Join us on Saturday, March 2 for our Saturday Storytime! This is a drop in storytime from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Come for the full hour, or just part of it! These stories, crafts, and activities are different from those on Mondays.
