Make a Valentine. The Council for the Arts in Chambersburg will host a Valentine’s Copper Cards class on Friday, February 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., . This event offers an opportunity for participants to create their own copper cards just in time for Valentine’s Day. The class will be led by Sara Spitzer, and all necessary supplies will be provided. The event is open to teens and adults, and thanks to a grant from The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, it is free of charge.

Construct a Foosball Table. On Saturday, February 3, at 11 a.m., individuals can participate in STEAM Saturday: Foosball at Discovery Station, located at 101 W Washington St, Hagerstown, MD. Participants will have the opportunity to explore concepts such as friction, gravity, and force while engaging in an engineering design challenge to construct a homemade foosball table. This event offers a hands-on experience for individuals to learn and have fun while delving into the principles of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Paint with the Kids. The Chatty Chameleon at 27 Center Square, Greencastle, on Friday, February 2, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m will host a fun night of painting and creativity for kids. During the event, children will receive guidance and all the necessary materials to craft their own masterpiece, which they can then take home and cherish. Learn the art of Printmaking. Printmaking Expo with Penn’s Woods Printmakers will take place on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 401 Museum Dr, Hagerstown, MD. This event will feature some of the region’s most renowned printmakers who will engage in discussions and demonstrations of various printmaking techniques and tools. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience printmaking firsthand. The event is free to attend and offers a unique chance to explore the art of printmaking. Play an Instrument. The Maryland Symphony Orchestra presents Symphony Saturdays, a program tailored for children in grades 1-3, taking place at the First Christian Church in Hagerstown on Saturday, February 3 at 9:30 a.m. This initiative offers a wonderful opportunity for kids to explore the world of the orchestra and its diverse instruments. Led by the talented musicians of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, the program comprises four one-hour sessions aimed at familiarizing children with fundamental musical concepts and the various instruments of the orchestra. It allows the participants to listen to the sounds of different symphonic instruments, try playing them, and gain insights into music alongside the professional musicians. Symphony Saturdays serves as an excellent platform to introduce young minds to the magic of orchestral music and is set to run during four Saturdays in February 2024.
