GREENCASTLE – The Waynesboro Maidens varsity basketball team was looking for a signature win, and they got it on Tuesday night when they handed Greencastle-Antrim a 39-32 loss.
The win improved Waynesboro’s overall record to 8-5 and 4-3 in the Mid-Penn Colonial Division. It was the Maidens’ fifth consecutive win. Waynesboro, who won the Halifax Candy Cane Tournament in late December to start the streak, added wins against Gettysburg and Shippensburg.
Northern York leads the division with a 4-0 record. The Polar Bears defeated Waynesboro 48-26 on Dec. 15.
The win against the Blue Devils concludes the first half of the league season. The second half starts Friday with a home game against West Perry.
Nikki Davis led the Maidens with 11 points, 5 assists and seven rebounds. Addie Shaull added nine points and grabbed nine rebounds and had three assists.
