CHAMBERSBURG- On Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 8:50 a.m, a crash involving a Big Spring School District school bus and a car occurred on Newville Road at Oakville Road in North Newton Township, Cumberland County.
State Police investigated the incident, which resulted in eight people being transported to Holy Spirit Hospital and Chambersburg Hospital. This included the occupant of the other vehicle involved.
Trooper Megan Frazer reported that injuries ranged from minor to moderate, and some individuals were transported for precautionary measures. The roads were closed, and Pennsylvania State Police were present at the scene. Additionally, fire police did not permit anyone through the barricades.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area. By the time the last update was issued, most emergency personnel had left the scene.
