CHAMBERSBURG- Staff and administrative leaders from Wilson College joined the Women Build Franklin County project for Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County PA. Women Build began in 1991 as a movement that supports all-women teams where the women feel comfortable and confident as they learn more about home construction and give back in a way that has lasting impact.

This year, Women Build Franklin County will construct a single detached 3 bedroom home on Warm Spring Road in Chambersburg. Anyone who wants to get involved is welcome, regardless of skill level. Women Build is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people, and make a difference in your community.

Here are just a few of the benefits of participating in Women Build:

  • Learn new skills. Women Build volunteers learn all aspects of home construction, from framing walls to installing siding and shingles. You’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish!
  • Meet new people. Women Build is a great way to meet other women who are passionate about making a difference. You’ll make new friends and learn from each other.
  • Make a difference in your community. The homes that Women Build builds go to families in need of affordable housing. By volunteering, you’re helping to create a stronger community for everyone.

If you’re interested in getting involved in Women Build Franklin County, there are a few different ways to do so. You can sign up to volunteer on the construction site, help with fundraising, or join one of the focus groups.

Monthly leadership meetings are happening now. To join, contact Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County PA for more information.
