Chambersburg, PA – Downtown Chambersburg Inc. (DCI) held its 27th Annual Crabfeast on Saturday, August 26th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This yearly event featured its hallmark meal: all-you-can-eat hardshell crabs and barbecue.
The event was hosted at AMVETS Post 224 Picnic Pavilion, conveniently located at 750 Fifth Avenue in Chambersburg, Pa. Every year, DCI holds the Crabfeast to fund its ongoing work of revitalizing downtown Chambersburg. This year, as in previous years, the Crabfeast was sold out completely.
Many community sponsors came together to make this year’s Crabfeast possible, including Shoemaker Insurance & Financial Services, Manitowoc Cranes, Volvo Construction Equipmentand SEK CPAs & Advisors. Local retirement community Menno Haven sponsored small games of chance.

When asked about their years of experience with DCI’s biggest fundraiser, long-time sponsor SEK, CPAs, and Advisorsrepresentative Angela Quigley said, “We like to support DCI, and support what they do for our downtown. We also use this as an opportunity to picnic with our staff and family members.”
Quigley, who has chaired the Crabfeast committee since 2014,added, “It’s a great event! …As chair, I help organize (with a team, of course) the event in its entirety. I also work the entire day of the event to make sure the successful execution of our plan. I cannot do this alone. We have a committee of about 15 individuals who work to make the event successful. It is always a sold-out event with great food and a great atmosphere.”
