GREENCASTLE- A Greencastle-Antrim Junior, Joshua Johnson, was recently named the Pennsylvania Leo of the Year at the Pa Lions Convention in Indiana, Pa.
The Lions club defines a leo as “Leadership, Experience, Opportunity.” “Members of Leo clubs embody the best qualities of the Lions incredible organization. They are devoted young people who realize the power of action. Together, Leos and Lions form a powerful partnership — one of mutual respect where Lions learn from the innovative insights of Leos, and where Leos gain access to the proven strategies of those who’ve successfully served the world for decades.” -said the Lions Club.
Joshua Johnson has served as President, Vice President, and Secretary of the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Leo Club and has been a member since 2017.
He has chaired a Leo Membership drive at both his school and church. Johnson has successfully sponsored four new Leos. He has provided great leadership to his fellow Leos by giving them examples and instructions on their various projects including apple cider sales, Easter egg hunt, packing treats for the holiday parade, the membership drive and the canned food drive.
Johnson has received many awards including, student of the month, career excellence, is a member of the National Honor Society and the Tri-M music National Honor Society. He is a member of the marching band playing saxophone and member drama club having played a lead role in the class play “Mama Mia.”
