HAGERSTOWN, MD—Sterling Financial Management will hold a free Social Security Seminar on Thursday, May 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the Frederick News-Post located at 351 Ballenger Center Drive. This seminar will discuss whether to apply for benefits early or to wait until your full retirement age. It will also review when spouses should claim their Social Security benefits and how to maximize survivor benefits. Private wealth manager Dave Neterer from the Sterling Financial Management advisor team will present this topic in person as well as online via Zoom.
“Many people think Social Security will provide a large portion of their income during retirement,” said Dave Neterer, founder and president of Sterling Financial Management. “But, in reality, it will only cover about 20-40% of your retirement income.* Thus, it is important to figure out at what age you and your spouse should start Social Security benefits.”
