WAYNE HEIGHTS—Chad Rooney has announced his candidacy for the Washington Township Board of Supervisors.

“There are many issues facing local government and we deserve to have public servants of the people making decisions based on the best interest of the residents and business owners,” said Rooney, a Republican. “I am impartial, solution-oriented and focused on the community in which I serve and look forward to working beside community members of Washington Township if elected.”

Rooney is the manager for the Town of Williamsport, Maryland. He was previously employed by Abraxas Youth & Family Services and the Borough of Waynesboro. He previously served as a Borough Councilman representing Ward 1 and was a member of its recreation board, personnel committee and public safety committee.

Rooney has served as a coach and youth leader, as well as a volunteer EMT with the Waynesboro Ambulance Squad, social member of the Waynesboro Volunteer Fire Department, Vice President of the Central Pennsylvania College Alumni Association and Board Member for Tuscarora Youth Wrestling.

He is a Doctoral candidate at Liberty University studying Public Administration.

He is married to his high school sweetheart, Laura, and the couple is raising two sons, Jayden and Tyler and a dog named Gunner.
